Polka Dots

I love polka dots. Seriously. If it has polka dots, I will more than likely purchase it.

I think it's heredity. My mom likes polka dots too.

I came home from work the other night and it was cold and wet and yucky and thin, silky pajamas just weren't going to warm me up, so I pulled out a light blue polka dot pair lined with flannel. Admired them for a few minutes. Then put them on. And they made me mull over all the polka dot fashions I own. I have 2 3 5 7 polka dot dresses. Green, brown, red, black with white, white with black...why, yes. I have a white dress with black polka dots AND a black dress with white polka dots. What's your point?

I actually have two pairs of polka dot strappy sandals also. One black and white and one rose and white. I haven't worn the rose and white ones yet but when I find the perfect thing to wear them with, I will have them. This is what is known as a back-up fashion plan.

So, I put on my sweet polka dot pajamas. I tidied the kitchen. It was too late for a dinner that required a lot of work, plus I had my nails done ( TECHNICALLY the reason I was late) and they were PERFECT, so I made cheesy scrambled eggs and hot buttered toast. And we settled in to watch "Gilmore Girls". Season 3.

I curled up in my chair and admired my polka dots. And they were absolutely perfect.

Well I only have one story to relate to polka dots. The women's Freshman orientation at OCU in 1964 yielded a talk from Dean Melton, the dean of women, and she admonished us NEVER to wear polka dots because they could fall in "suggestive" places. We were also not to wear paten leather shoes because they could reflect up our dresses. LOL

Otherwise, I'm with you. I love polka dots and I also love dotted swiss material.

Oh yeah, Mom used to make my sis and I matching dotted Swiss dresses... wonder why you just don't see dotted Swiss anymore?

Learn something new every day. I did not know you were so fond of polka dots. Interesting. vj

Yes, definitely heredity. I love polka dots too. Remember the red and white polka dot shirt and matching shoes last summer? Oh wait, I forget who I'm talking to. Of course you don't remember. But trust me, I love polka dots too and it was an extremely cute outfit.

Hahaha.... I'm with you! Give m a polka dot any day! I have some polka dot things that I bought JUST b/c they had polka dots - and now I have no idea what to do with them. The colors don't match and I don't have anywhere to put them... so, they sit in a box in the attic :( BUT, they are there for "such a time as" I need them.

Okay, so I don't agree with you on shoes, but I do love polka dots!

I love the dots, but mostly on other things besides clothes. Like on pitchers, hand bags, etc. I love all the description in this post. Very cozy feel to it. I bet you didn't realize how much sensory detail you have in this one post. I notice those things because of the literature major thing a million years ago.
